Today I am here with another snack recipe that can be prepared for iftar parties. Even if it takes more time for preparation this Meat Roll worth it. You can also prepare this Meat Roll using maida dosas instead of using plain flour dough.
First We can prepare the dough. Take maida, yeast, sugar, salt, butter/oil, egg yolk (keep egg white aside, we can use it later ) in a bowl and mix everything well and pour warm milk or water and knead to firm a smooth dough. No need to knead it for long time. Cover the dough in a greased bowl and keep it in a warm place for 1 hour to raise.
Meanwhile we can prepare the filling. Cook chicken/ Beef pieces with salt and turmeric powder, chilly powder with enough water. Shred the cooked chicken/ beef pieces and keep it aside.
Place a non-stick pan over medium heat, add oil. Add chopped onions, season with salt and saute till translucent. Add ginger-garlic paste, saute till onions turn into golden colour. Then add chopped green chilly and curry leaves and saute well. Add garam masala powder and mix well.
Add the shredded chicken/ beef to it, combine well. Taste and add more salt if needed. If more spice is needed add more ground pepper or chilli powder. Combine well. Add chopped cilantro, cook for a few seconds. Remove the pan from the heat and keep aside. Masala filling for Meat Roll is ready.
After one hour take the raised dough and knead it slowly with palm then divide into 8 or 10 portions and flatten each portion in your palm. Place some filling inside the flatten dough, seal it and shape into roll.
Now mix little milk, salt and 1/4 Tspn pepper powder in egg white kept aside earlier and dip the shaped meat roll and roll in bread crumbs and place it on a plate. Keep this aside for 15 minutes again for a second raise.
Now heat oil in a kadai or pan and fry the prepared meat rolls by flipping sides till golden in colour and drain in kitchen towel. Serve with ketchup.
