Idichakkayum Beefum

Idichakkayum Beefum

Jack fruit is one of the seasonal products in Kerala and it is available in different varieties. This dish is made with tender jackfruit and beef. It’s so easy to make this dish but you have to choose unripe, young jackfruit to prepare and have to remove its peel. I think with meat and vegetables cooked together it is always the flavour of the meat that makes the vegetable that is paired taste awesome. And with idichakka/baby jackfruit it is sweet flavour gets even better when cooked in the fat of meat. Non-beef eaters can opt for mutton. Idichakkayum beefum is well suited for rice or rotis.

Actually I learned this recipe from my grand mom . These are traditional recipes that are behind our experiments. The traditional recipes should be prepared in the way that our grandmothers did. You all must try this Idichakkayum Beefum recipe and let me know your response.
